School Volunteer Awards

The annual A+PEL School Volunteer Awards Program is designed to recognize the many valuable contributions made by Louisiana school volunteers. Additionally, the program is intended to increase awareness of the importance of parental and citizen involvement in Louisiana's public education.
To nominate a school volunteer:
- Submit the name of one volunteer who has shown above average commitment to education.
- Submit a completed School Volunteer Nomination Form.
- Submit a picture of the nominee.
- Have the nominee complete and submit the "Tell Us About You" form.
- Submit school volunteer nomination form, picture, and "Tell Us About You" form to A+PEL at 7907 Wrenwood Blvd., Suite B, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
Nominee selection is based on 3 criteria:
- Time, energy or resources in school service
- Services rendered at school, parish and state level
- Leadership
Deadline: March 1
A reception honoring the 2010-2011 school volunteers will take place in June 2011 at the Governor’s Mansion. Invitations will be sent to the volunteer award recipients, principals, superintendents, nominating teachers, legislators, and BESE members.
